Infographic: The Growth of Content Marketing

In the article, it states that 60% of B2B marketers plan to spend more on their content marketing strategy, but only 27% of them are actually doing so.

Last year’s Google’s Panda update attempted to separate the “good” content from the “bad”, and those creating high-quality content are seeing improvements. So, how are you creating more “good” content for your site?

QR Codes = Instant Call-to-Action Marketing?

I read an interesting article on ClickZ the other day called “Study Shows Rapid Evolution of QR Marketing” (posted 1/26/12). In it, they talk about how 2011 was a major evolution year for direct response, specifically QR codes. How in the beginning of 2011, the use of a QR code for most companies was more of an “experiment” than a necessity. And how the advertising industry was the main driver of the 439% increase in the use of action codes in 2011. But, perhaps my favorite excerpt was: “Another evolution, Matus says, was the disappearance of SMS alternatives to scanning. “At the beginning of the year, people were worried there weren’t enough smartphones, so they would have also a texting option. Now only 3 percent have that,” he notes.

Disneyland After Dark

Have you ever wondered how the Happiest Place on Earth maintains its pristine exterior? I know I have, and this LA Times article confirms my suspicions: there is a “dark side” to Disneyland. An army of clean freaks emerges and invades Disneyland each night to make “The Land” sparkle just like it did on opening day.

Now you, too, can witness the power of the crew that uses their magic each night to bring Disneyland back to its original splendor. Check out the article on LATimes.com and the corresponding slideshow…mouse ears off to the Disneyland cleaning crew! They do a heck of a job each night, and in less time than it would take me to clean my house! (ha ha)

My favorite quote in the article? “Though park officials wouldn’t divulge how much money is spent on Disneyland’s overall upkeep, they said most is spent on the night shift.” Hah…I believe that. It’s because they’re basically repainting the place each night to make it look as though no one had been through the streets the day before. :)
